Increased slaughterings of cattle and pigs in September 2002

The slaughterings of cattle amounted to 107 900 metric tons in the first nine months of 2002, an increase by 2,3 % from the same period 2001. The slaughterings of pigs increased by 2,5 % or from 207 100 to 212 300 metric tons during the same period.

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in January - September 2002 decreased by 1,3 % compared to previous year.

The quantity of eggs delivered to wholesalers decreased by 3,9 % during  January - September 2002.
