Decreased slaughterings of cattle in March 2003

The slaughterings of cattle amounted to 35 100 metric tons in January - March 2003, a decrease by 6,4 % compared to the same period 2002. The slaughterings of pigs increased by 3,1 % or from 70 700 to 72 900 metric tons during the same period.

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in January - March 2003 decreased by 3,0 % compared to previous year.

The quantity of eggs delivered to wholesalers decreased by 8,6 % during the same period.
