Increased slaughterings of pigs in January - December 2004

The slaughterings of pigs amounted to 293 700 metric tons in January -December 2004, an increase by 2,2 % compared to the same period 2003. The slaughterings of cattle increased by 1,4 % during the same period.

The slaughterings of chickens decreased by 6,8 % from 97 900 in 2003 to 91 200 metric tons in 2004.

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in January - December 2004 increased by 0,7 % compared to previous year.

The quantity of eggs delivered to wholesalers increased by 10,9 % during the same period.
