Decreased slaughterings in January - February 2005

Production of drinking milk, acidified milk, cream and milk powder decreased in January - February 2005, compared to the same period 2004. Milk delevered to dairies decreased with about 3 %. Production of cheese increased with about 1 % and production of butter with 8 %.

Slaughterings of livestock also decreased between January - February 2004 and 2005. Slaughterings of cattle decreased with 2 % and slaughterings of pigs with almost 8 %.

The quantity of eggs delivered to wholesalers was the same as in January - February 2004.
