Decreased slaughterings of cattle in January–September 2012

Slaughterings of cattle decreased by 8.7 % in January–September 2012 compared with January–September 2011 and slaughterings of pigs by 9.1 % during the same period. Slaughterings of chickens decreased by 1.7 % during January–September 2012 compared with January–September 2011.

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies increased by 0.7 % and production of drinking milk decreased by 2.3 % in January–September 2012 compared with January–September 2011. Production of cheese decreased by 2.1 % and production of milk powder increased by 18.2 % during the same period.
