Decreased slaughterings of pigs in January–May 2013

Slaughterings of pigs decreased by 1.7 % in January–May 2013 compared with January–May 2012 and slaughterings of cattle increased by 4.1 % during the same period. The quantity of milk delivered to dairies decreased by 1.1 % and production of drinking milk by 0.3 % in January–May 2013 compared with January–May 2012. Production of cheese decreased by 9.6 % and production of milk powder increased by 5.2 % during the same period.

Figure A shows delivered quantity of milk to dairies month by month during the time period 2010–2013. Figure B and C illustrate monthly slaughterings of cattle and pigs respectively during the same period of time.
