Increased slaughterings of cattle in January–June 2013

Slaughterings of cattle increased by 2.5 % in January–June 2013 compared with January–June 2012 and slaughterings of pigs decreased by 1.5 % during the same period. The quantity of milk delivered to dairies decreased by 0.9 % and production of drinking milk by 2.1 % in January–June 2013 compared with January–June 2012. Production of cream decreased by 8.9 % and production of butter increased by 5.7 % during the same period.

Figure A shows delivered quantity of milk to dairies month by month during the time period 2010–2013. Figure B and C illustrate monthly slaughterings of cattle and pigs respectively during the same period of time.
