Increase slaughterings in July 2015 compared with July 2014

The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in July 2015 was 246 500 tons, 1 100 tons more than July of last year. Figure A shows the quantity of milk delivered to dairies month by month from 2012 till July 2015. The production of drinking milk was in July 63 100 tons, which is 1 100 tons more than in July 2014. Cream production has been 64 100 tons this far, it is 3 400 tons bigger than last year at this point in time.

In July 2015 slaughtered over 30 400 adult cattle and nearly 1 400 calves. The total weight of cattle was over 10 100 tons, which is more than the same month in the last three years. This can be seen in Figure B. The slaughter of pigs is less than the same month in the last three years. In July this year there were slaughtered 223 600 pigs, representing a weight of 20 000 tons. Figures B and C show how the slaughter of cattle and pigs has developed since the year 2012.

In July 2015 there were slaughtered 8 334 200 chicken, 146 870 hens and 36 400 turkeys. The total weight was 12 400 tons. 96 % of the weight was from chickens.

Data about eggs delivered to wholesalers from The Swedish Egg and Poultry Associations members in July 2015 are not available at the time for this publications, which means that Table 5 in not updated. The data will be published in the database when it is available.
