monthly slaughterings of pigs so far this year The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in August
2015 was 243 900 tons, 3 000 tons more than August of last year.
Figure A shows the quantity of milk delivered to dairies month by month from
2012 till August 2015. The production of drinking milk was in August 66 400
tons, which is 1 400 tons less than in August 2014. Cream production has
been 73 200 tons this far, it is 4 200 tons bigger than last year at
this point in time. In August 2015 slaughtered nearly 34 000 adult cattle
and nearly 1 700 calves. The total weight of cattle was over 11 200 tons,
which is more than the same month in the last two years. This can be seen in
Figure B. The slaughter of pigs is less than the same month in the last three
years. In August this year there were slaughtered 200 600 pigs,
representing a weight of 18 000 tons. Figures B and C show how the
slaughter of cattle and pigs has developed since the year 2012. In August
2015 there were slaughtered 7 720 700 chicken, 291 200 hens and 34 500
turkeys. The total weight was 11 700 tons. 95 % of the weight was
from chickens. Data about eggs delivered to wholesalers from The
Swedish Egg and Poultry Associations members in August 2015 are not available
at the time for this publications, which means that Table 5 in not updated. The
