slaughterings in March 2016 compared with March 2015 The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in March 2016
was 257 300 tonnes. Figure A shows the quantity of milk delivered to dairies
month by month from 2013 to March 2016. The production of drinking milk was 70 300
tonnes in March, which is 300 tonnes more than in Mars 2015. Cream production in
January to March 2016 was 29 500 tonnes. It is 1 800 tonnes more than
the same period 2015. In March 2016 nearly 31 600 adult cattle and nearly
1 500 calves were slaughtered. The total weight of the slaughtered cattle
was nearly 10 500 tonnes, which is less than the same month in the last two
years. This can be seen in Figure B. The slaughter of pigs is also less than
the same month in the last two years. 216 200 pigs were slaughtered in
March 2016, representing a weight of 20 100 tonnes. Figure C show how the
slaughter of pigs has developed since the year 2013. The total slaughter of
sheep, rams and lambs in March 2016 was 380 tonnes, it is 40 tonnes less than
in March 2015. Figure D shows how the total slaughter of sheep, rams and lambs
has developed since the year 2013. The poultry
slaughtered in March 2016, which include chickens, hens and turkeys, weighed 12 200 tonnes.
97 % of the weight was from chickens. Figure E shows how the total
slaughter of poultry has developed since the year 2013. In March 2016 there were 10 000 tonnes of eggs
delivered to wholesalers from The Swedish Egg and Poultry Association. It is an
increase by 5 % compared with March 2015. It is estimated that The Swedish
Egg and Poultry Association increased their market share from 80 % to
83 % between 2013 and 2015. Figure F shows eggs delivered to wholesalers
