in the slaughter of cattle and pigs in June
The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in
June was 233 900 tonnes, a 1 % decrease compared with the figures for June
2017. 64 600 tonnes of drinking milk and 19 800 tonnes of acidified
milk were produced at the dairies. Furthermore, 9 100 tonnes of cream,
6 700 tonnes of cheese, 900 tonnes of butter and 7 500 tonnes of milk
powder were produced. 30 100 cattle were slaughtered in June, of
which 1 000 were calves. The total slaughter weight of cattle decreased by
5 % compared with June 2017, to 9 800 tonnes. There were 205 000 pigs slaughtered in
June, with a total slaughter weight of 19 400 tonnes. This constitutes a
decrease by roughly 1 % compared with June 2017. Compared with June 2017 the slaughter of sheep
and lambs increased by 3 %. There were 18 600 sheep and lambs slaughtered
in June. The total slaughter weight of sheep and lambs was 380 tonnes. The figures for slaughtered poultry and egg
delivery were not available at the time of publication. The statistics will be
published in the Statistical database of the Board of Agriculture when
