increase in the slaughter of cattle, pigs and sheep
The
quantity of milk delivered to dairies in October was 218 800 tonnes. In
comparison with October 2017 it is a decease by roughly 2 %. 61 800 tonnes
of drinking milk and 18 700 tonnes of acidified milk were produced at the
dairies. Also produced at the dairies were 8 100 tonnes of cream,
6 700 tonnes of cheese, 900 tonnes of butter and 6 200 tonnes of milk
powder. There were
43 700 cattle slaughtered in October. The total slaughter weight of cattle
was 13 900 tonnes, an increase by 12 % compared with the figures for
October 2017. 242 600
pigs were slaughtered in October. The total slaughter weight of pigs,
22 600 tonnes, was an increase by 12 % compared with October last year. In October
41 000 sheep and lambs were slaughtered, with a total slaughter weight 800
tonnes. The total slaughter weight of sheep and lambs increased by 12 %
compared with the statistics for October 2017. This month’s figures for slaughtered poultry
and eggs delivered to wholesalers were not available at the time of
publication. The statistics will be published in the Statistical database of
