slaughter of pigs and sheep in November
In November the quantity of milk delivered to
dairies was 212 500 tonnes, a decrease by 3 % compared with the statistics
for November 2017. 61 100 tonnes of drinking milk and 18 300 tonnes
of acidified milk were produced at the dairies. Also produced during the month
were 8 000 tonnes of cream, 7 000 tonnes of cheese, 1 100 tonnes
of butter and 4 900 tonnes of milk powder. 40 800 cattle were slaughtered in
November. The total slaughter weight of cattle was 12 900 tonnes, which is
an increase by 1 % compared with November 2017. The slaughter of pigs increased by 6 % compared
with the figures for November 2017. During the month 235 900 pigs were
slaughtered and the total slaughter weight was 22 000 tonnes. In November 35 200 sheep and lambs were
slaughtered. The total slaughter weight, 690 tonnes, was an increase by 10 %
compared with the same month of last year. This month’s figures for slaughtered poultry
were not available at the time of publication. The statistics will be published
