(PDF)”. In the
period between the first of July 2012 and the last of June 2013, 680 000
metric tons of inorganic fertilizers were sold for agri- and horticultural
purposes in Sweden, representing an 11 % increase since the year before. The
absolute majority of the sold fertilizers consisted of straight nitrogen
fertilizers and composite NPK-fertilizers, together amounting to 95 % of
the sold weight. Among the straight nitrogen fertilizers, 84 % consisted
of compounds with a nitrogen content of 24–30 %, while the sales of NPK-fertilizers
was fairly evenly divided between fertilizers with varying composition. The average
concentration of each nutrient in straight nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium
fertilizers was 26.2; 20.0 and 33.4 % respectively. Composite fertilizers
containing the respective nutrient had average concentrations of 22.1; 3.9 and
7.6 % for each of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. While
59 % of the total amount of nitrogen was sold in straight fertilizers, the
overwhelming majority of phosphorus and potassium was sold in the form of
NPK-fertilizers. Practically all of the sold sulphur was sold in straight
nitrogen fertilizers or in NPK-compositions. List of tables
