agricultural land remained largely unchanged
The total
area of arable land in the year 2011 was 2,617,100 hectares, according to
preliminary figures. That was a decrease by 16,400 ha (-1 %) compared with
2010. The total area of pasture and meadow was 444,000 hectares in 2011, according
to preliminary figures. That was a decrease by 7,900 hectares (-2 %) compared
with 2010. The area of
cereals is increasing
The total
area of cereals was 992,900 hectares in 2011, according to preliminary figures.
That was an increase by 30,100 hectares (+3 %) compared with 2010. The area of
oats increased by 18,000 hectares (+11 %) compared with 2010. Rye, triticale
and mixed corn decreased by 13,000 hectares (-16 %) compared with 2010. The area of fallow
land is decreasing
The area of
fallow land was 149,900 hectares in 2011, according to
preliminary figures. That was a decrease by 26,900 hectares (-15 %) compared
with 2010. The area of grass and
green fodder is constant
The area of
grass and green fodder were 1.2 million hectares in 2011, according to
preliminary figures. It was about the same area as in 2010. List of tables
