The total
area of arable land in the year 2012 is 2,604,900 hectares, according to
preliminary figures. That is a decrease by 14,000 ha (-1 %) compared with 2011. The total area of
pasture and meadow is 439,300 hectares in 2012, according to preliminary
figures. That is a decrease by 7,600 hectares (-2 %) compared with 2011. The area of
cereals is increasing
The total
area of cereals is 1,008,000 hectares in 2012, according to preliminary
figures. That is an increase by 15,200 hectares (+2 %) compared with 2011. The area of barley increase by 47,500 hectares
(+14 %) and the area of wheat decrease by
45,200 (-11 %) compared with 2011. The area of oats
increase by 18,700 hectares (+10 %)
compared with 2011. The area of rape and
turnip rape is increasing
The area of
rape and turnip rape is 109,800 hectares in 2012, according to preliminary
figures. That is an increase by 14,900 hectares (+16 %) compared with 2011. The area of grass and
green fodder is decreasing
The area of
grass and green fodder is 1,173,600 hectares in 2012, according to preliminary
figures. This is a decrease by 21,700 hectares (-2 %) compared with 2011. List of tables
