This report
contains statistics on organic farming areas, fully converted or under
conversion, in 2012. The information covers arable land and pasture and meadows.
Information on greenhouse cultivation is excluded. The total
converted areas and the areas under conversion in 2012 have been estimated to
almost 478 100 hectares or 15.7 % of the total utilised agricultural area
in Sweden. Compared with 2011 the areas are almost unchanged. The fully
converted areas are estimated to 424 600 hectares or 13.9 % of the
total agricultural area in Sweden, an increase by 10 % compared with 2011.
The fully converted areas in 2012 consisted of 329 600 hectares of arable
land and 95 100 hectares of pasture and meadow. The areas
under conversion in 2012 are estimated to 53 400 hectares or 1.8 % of
the total agricultural area in Sweden. Compared with 2011 this was a decrease
by 41 500 hectares or 44 %. List of tables
