Results for
2006–2012 provided in this report are not directly comparable with results from
previous years due to an increased number of small holdings as a result of the
change in agricultural policy in the EU.
The average
household income before tax-free positive transfers and taxes was for all
agricultural households SEK 420 400 in 2012, an increase by SEK 5 200 since 2011.
The tax-free positive transfers were the same as in 2011. The negative
transfers increased by SEK 1 500 or 2 %. The household income after transfers
increased by SEK 3 600 or 1 % to SEK 331 700.
Among the
category full-time farming the average household income before tax was SEK 426
000 and after tax it was SEK 336 200. For small farms the corresponding
figures are SEK 430 800 SEK and SEK 338 300 respectively.
For farmers
and spouses the income from business and employment has been calculated for
women and men since 1996. For both women and men, income from business
decreased in 2012. However, income from employment increased for women and men
with the result of an increased total income for both genders.
For farmers
and spouses the income from business for women as share of income for business
for men was 30 % in 2012. This share was 39 % in 1996. On the other hand, the
corresponding share for income from employment was 95 % in 1996 and increased
to 104 % in 2012. Although women on average earn more money from employment
than men do since 1999, their total income from business and employment was
still 15 % lower in 2012. In 1996 the corresponding figure was 18 %.
