In EnglishSummary SummaryThe output value in the agricultural sector amounted to 42 200 million SEK in 2001, an increase by 1 300 million SEK or 3,2 % from the previous year. The reason was - to a large extent - higher subsidies on products (e.g. compensatory aid for arable crops and premiums for cattle). Moreover, producer prices for both crop products (cereals, oil seeds, potatoes) and animals (especially pigs) increased. The volume of production decreased by 2,3 %, principally in the crop sector as a result of a decline in the areas under cultivation and somewhat lower yields per hectare. The total production costs increased almost as much as the output value - 1 100 million SEK or 2,9 %. However, the so-called other subsidies on production also increased - by 500 million SEK - and the entrepreneurial income of the agricultural sector increased from 5 100 million SEK in 2000 to 5 800 million SEK in 2001.
