Summary Summary
The production value
decreased marginally in 2006
The
production value in basic prices increased between 1999 and 2004 but decreased
in 2005 with about 8 %. The decrease in 2005 can to a large extent be
explained by the introduction of the single farm payment. The decrease between
2005 and 2006 is about 0.6 %. Crop output
in basic prices decreased by 5 % in 2006 compared to 2005. The production
of cereals decreased by 18 % compared to the year before. The main cause
was due to that the yield per hectare decreased because of a dry summer, but
the area of cereals also diminished because of the introduction of the single
farm payment in 2005. The prices of cereals increased by roughly 17 % in
2006 compared to 2005. The total
harvest of rape and turnip rape increased by 11 % in 2006 compared to 2005. The
main cause is due to an increase of 36 % by the area of winter rape. The prices
of rape and turnip rape increased, which caused the production value of rape
and turnip rape to increase by 23 %. The harvest and the area of potatoes
decreased by 16 and 8 % respectively in 2006 compared to 2005. The prices of
potatoes increased by 46 % during the same period. The
production value in basic prices for animal output increased by 1.5 % in 2006
compared to 2005. The volume of slaughter of cattle was about the same as last
year while the slaughter of pigs decreased slightly. The prices of cattle and
pigs increased by 8 and 6 % respectively. The production of milk was about the
same as it was the year before, while the price decreased by roughly one per
cent. The production of eggs decreased by 2 % while the prices increased by
10 %. Operating surplus is
unchanged
There is
almost no change in the operating surplus in 2006 compared to 2005. The total
intermediate consumption decreased slightly while fixed capital consumption and
other subsidies on production increased slightly. List of tables
