Economic Accounts for Agriculture - second estimates for 2010

of agricultural output is expected to increase by 8 % in 2010 compared with
2009. Crop output is expected to increase by 10 % while animal output is
expected to increase by 6 %. The total
harvest of cereals is expected to be about 4.3 million metric tonnes in 2010.
This is 17 % less than the harvest of 2009. The decrease is mainly attributable
to a decrease in the yield per hectare. Another cause is that the area with
cereals decreased by 7 %. The prices of cereals are expected to increase by
about 52 % for the harvest year of 2010 compared with 2009. The harvest
of rape and turnip rape is expected to be about 0.3 million metric tonnes. This
is an increase with 16 % compared to the average of the last five years. The
increase is mainly attributable to more growing of rape. The prices of oil
seeds are expected to increase by 39 % in the harvest year of 2010 compared
with 2009. The average
prices for cattle increased by 10 % in 2010 compared with 2009 according to
preliminary figures. The prices of pigs decreased by 9 %. The
slaughtering of cattle decreased with 5 % in 2010 compared with 2009. The slaughtering
of pigs is expected to decrease somewhat in 2010. The
quantity of milk delivered to wholesalers is expected to decrease by about
3 % in 2010. The price of milk is expected to increase by roughly 14 % in
2010. The output
of the agricultural industry in basic prices is expected to increase by 7 % in
2010 compared with 2009. The majority of fields preliminarily increase in value
in 2010 compared to 2009. Examples are wheat with an increase of 58 %,
potatoes with an increase of 32 %, milk with an increase of 10 %. Cattle
decreased by about 2 %. The factor
income of agriculture is expected to increase by 25 % in 2010 compared with
2009. The factor income is calculated as the sum of production value and direct
subsidies less the expenses of intermediate consumption and fixed capital consumption. List of tables
