Price Indices and Prices in the Food Sector - Annual and Monthly Statistics - 2010:01

Agricultural Input Price Index has decreased by -6.0 % between January 2009 and January 2010. The prices for Fertilisers and soil improvers have decreased
by -51.5 % and were thereby the prices with the greatest decrease. Even for Seeds and Plant protection products and pesticides there was a major decrease in prices during this period (-10.3 % respectively -5.4 %). Total Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture decreased by -8.4 % while Goods and services contributing to agricultural investments increased by 3.6 % during the period.

Output Price Index has decreased by -3.1 % between January 2009 and January 2010. Cereals has decreased by -21.2 % and the prices on Milk has an increase by 2.1 % since January 2009. The Index for crop output has decreased by -10.0 % and index for animal output has increased by 1.7 % between January 2009 and January 2010.

"Price Index for the Food Industry, food from price regulated agricultural products" (PPI-J) decreased by -2.7 % between January 2009 and January 2010. Potatoes for consumption decreased by -30.8 % during the period.

 

"Consumer Price Index, food from price regulated agricultural products" (CPI-J) has increased by 0.7 % between January 2009 and January 2010. The prices for Sugar have increased by 3.8 %, Beef by 3.6 % and Ice cream by 2.3 %. These three products accounts for the greatest increases. On the other hand, prices for Potatoes for consumption has decreased by -4.4 % in the same period. Total Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.6 % between January 2009 and January 2010.
