Price Indices and Prices in the Food Sector – Annual and Monthly Statistics – 2012:01

Agricultural Input Price Index has increased by 2.5 % between January 2011 and January 2012. Prices for Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture have increased by 2.2 % while prices for Goods and services contributing to agricultural investments have increased by 3.4 %. The highest increase was found in prices for Seeds (+8.1 %) followed by Veterinary expenses (+8.0 %).
Output Price Index has decreased by -3.8 % between January 2011 and January 2012. The Index for Crop output has decreased by -8.6 % and the main reason for that is lower prices for Cereals and Potatoes for consumption. Animal output has decreased with -0.3 % since January 2011. The prices for example Milk (-3.4 %) and Pigs (-6.4 %) decreased while the prices for example Cattle (+11.7 %) and Sheep and goats (+8.1 %) increased.
“Price Index for the Food Industry, food from price regulated agricultural products” (PPI-J) increased by 1.5 % between January 2011 and January 2012. Crop products have increased by 2.1 % in average and Animal products have increased by 1.1 %.
“Consumer Price Index, food from price regulated agricultural products”
(CPI-J) has increased by 1.2 % between January 2011 and January 2012. Total Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased by 1.9 % during the same period.
