Price Indices and Prices
in the Food Sector – Annual and Monthly Statistics – 2016:07

Price Index decreased by -1.9 % between July 2015 and July 2016. Prices for
Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture decreased by -3.0 % while
prices for Goods and services contributing to agricultural investments
increased by 2.0 %. Fertilisers and soil improvers (-21.6 %) contributed
the most to the total decrease in the input price index. Animal feedingstuffs (‑4.9 %)
and Veterinary expenses (‑2.5 %) are other examples where prices
decreased during the period. The highest increase was found in Materials (+2.4 %). Output index Agricultural Output Price Index increased
by 1.2 % between July 2015 and July 2016. Index for Crop output increased
by 4.1 %. The highest increase was found in prices for Fruits and
Horticultural products (+28.6 %) and the biggest decrease among the crops was
found in prices for Cereals (‑7.0 %). Animal output decreased by ‑0.8 %.
This is mainly explained by lower prices for Milk during the period. Index later in the food chain “Price Index for the Food Industry, food from price regulated
agricultural products” increased by 2.4 % between July 2015 and July
2016. Crop products and Animal products increased by 4.3
and 1.4 % respectively. “Consumer Price Index, food from price regulated agricultural products” was at the same level in July 2016
as in July 2015. Total Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.1 % during the
