Price Indices and Prices in the Food Sector – Annual and Monthly Statistics – 2016:09

Input index

Agricultural Input Price Index decreased by ‑1.4 % between September 2015 and September 2016. Prices for Goods and services currently consumed in agriculture decreased by ‑2.4 % while prices for Goods and services contributing to agricultural investments increased by 2.0 %. Fertilisers and soil improvers (‑22.7 %) contributed the most to the total decrease in the input price index. Animal feedingstuffs (‑3.1 %) and Seeds (‑2.3 %) are the only other products where prices decreased during the period. The highest increase was found in Energy and lubricants (+2.5 %).

 

Output index

Agricultural Output Price Index increased by 1.0 % between September 2015 and September 2016. Index for Animal output increased by 2.7 % while Crop output decreased by ‑1.3 %. The highest increase was found in prices for Cereals (+10.1 %) followed by Animals (+7.3 %). Potatoes (‑25.9 %) was the product that decreased the most during the period.

 

Index later in the food chain

“Price Index for the Food Industry, food from price regulated agricultural products” increased by 1.6 % between September 2015 and September 2016. Crop products and Animal products increased by 3.6 and 0.5 % respectively.

“Consumer Price Index, food from price regulated agricultural products” decreased by ‑0.2 % between September 2015 and September 2016. Total Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.9 % during the same period.
