In EnglishSummary
This
report provides preliminary results for the year 2005 for the yield per hectare
and total production of cereals, dried pulses and oilseeds. The results are presented for counties, production areas
and for all of Sweden. Cereals, dried pulses and
oilseed crops
Total
production of cereal crops for the whole country is estimated at
5 075 700 tons. This is eight per cent less than 2004 and six per
cent less than the average for the previous five years. Total
production of peas is estimated at 65 600 tons, which is 25 per cent less
than the previous year. Field beans (Vicia faba L.) is included in the crop yield survey for the second year. The
total production of field beans is estimated at 15 000 tons. The 2005
harvest of rape and turnip rape is estimated at 199 500 tons. This is
twelve per cent less than 2004 but 34 per cent more than the average for the
previous five years. The total production of oil flax is estimated at
15 400 tons. Since
1998, statistics on crop yields for cereals, dried pulses and oilseed crops
have been based on an interview survey. For the first time in 2005, the farmers
can also use Internet as a tool for data delivery to Statistics Sweden. The sample
of the survey of 2005 consists of 4 350 survey units. The selected farms
are a random sample from throughout the country. The survey was carried out in
October and November. Information was requested for total farm production in
tons of these crops and their average moisture content. Yields per hectare at
farm level are calculated by dividing the total production by the crop areas of
the farm. The total production is calculated from data on yield per hectare;
area statistics are calculated from preliminary data on usage of arable land in
2005. These area data are based on figures from the administrative database for
agricultural subsidies, IACS. Crop areas cut as green fodder have been excluded.
The statistics on yields correspond with yield per hectare of sown areas minus
areas cut as green fodder. Yields per hectare on harvested areas are not
calculated. Unharvested areas and areas cut as green fodder are presented in
separate tables. The tables
show the number of observations, yield per hectare in kg, total production in
metric tons and crop areas. Standard errors are given for the yield per hectare
and total production. List of tables1. Winter wheat. Harvest in 2005. Preliminary data 2. Spring wheat. Harvest in 2005. Preliminary data 3. Winter rye. Harvest in 2005. Preliminary data 4.
