In EnglishSummary Summary
This
report provides preliminary results for the year 2007 on the yield per hectare
and total production of cereal crops, dried pulses and oilseed crops. The results are presented for all of Sweden. Cereals, dried pulses and
oilseed crops
Total
production of cereal crops for the whole country is estimated at 5.05 million
tonnes. This is 22 percent more than 2006 and at the same level as the average
for the previous five years. The total
production of winter wheat is estimated at about 2.1 million tonnes. This is
equivalent to 43 percent of the total production of cereal crops. Total
production of peas is estimated at about 38 000 tonnes, which is 26 percent
less than the previous year. The total production of field beans is estimated
at about 11 000 tonnes. The 2007
harvest of rape and turnip rape is estimated at 219 100 tonnes. This is at
the same level as 2006 and 17 percent more than the average for the previous
five years. The total production of oil flax is estimated at 7 000 tonnes. Since
1998, statistics on crop yields for cereals, dried pulses and oilseed crops
have been based on an interview survey. Since 2005, the farmers can also use
internet as a tool for data delivery to Statistics Sweden. The
sample of the survey of 2007 consists of about 4 377 survey units. The
selected farms are a random sample from throughout the country. These preliminary
results are based on a sub sample of 1 094 survey units. These units
receive priority in the survey and in the subsequent data processing at
Statistics Sweden. The survey was carried out in October and November.
Information was requested for total farm production in tonnes of these crops
and their average moisture content. Yields per hectare at the farm level are
calculated by dividing the total production by the crop areas of the farm. The
total production was calculated from data on yield per hectare; area statistics
were calculated from preliminary data on usage of agricultural land in 2007.
These area data are based on figures from the administrative database for
agricultural subsidies. Crop areas cut as green fodder have been excluded. The tables
show the number of observations, yield per hectare in kg, total production in
metric tonnes and crop areas. Standard errors are given for the yield per
hectare and total production. List of tables 1. Winter wheat. Harvest in 2007. Preliminary data 2. Spring wheat. Harvest in 2007. Preliminary data 3. Winter rye. Harvest in 2007. Preliminary data 4.
