Summary
This report
provides forecasts for the year 2002 for the yields per hectare and total
production of cereals and oilseed crops. The results are presented for all of
Sweden. Yield per hectare
The
forecast for the yields per hectare of cereal crops are expected to be a little
bit higher than the standard yields. Compared to the average yields for the
last five years the yield per hectare of cereal crops are expected to be
between 5 and 10 % higher. For oilseed
crops the forecasts of the yields per hectares are higher than the standard
yield except for spring rape. Compared with the average yield for the last five
years the yields of spring and winter rape are expected to be lower, while the
yields of spring and winter turnip rape are expected to be higher. Total productionThe
forecast of the total production of cereals is 5,5 million tons for 2002, which
is almost 2% higher than for 2001. In general winter cereals are expected to
have a lower production while the spring cereals are expected to have a higher
production than for 2001. This is mainly due to lower areas of winter cereals
and higher areas of spring cereals. Compared to the average production for the
last five years the production 2002 are expected to be almost the same. The total
production of oilseeds is expected to be more than 40 % higher than 2001
due to higher areas. Compared to the average production for the last
five years the production for 2002 is expected to be about 18 % higher. List of tables
