for cereals and oilseed crops in 2019
This report provides forecasts concerning yields per hectare and total
production of cereals and oilseed crops for the year 2019. The results are
presented at the national level. Total production
The forecast shows that the total production of cereals is estimated to
be 5.9 million tonnes in 2019, which is 10 % more than the average for the
years 2014–2018.
The main reason for the higher total production of cereals estimated for 2019
is that the area of Winter wheat is larger in 2019 than the average for the
last five years. Winter wheat accounts for 52 % of the total production of
cereals. This year’s harvest of oilseeds is estimated to be 0.35 million tonnes,
which is about 13 % more compared with the average total production of
oilseeds for the last five years. Winter rape corresponds to 97 % of the
total production of oilseeds. Yield per hectare
Yields per hectare are estimated to increase for all of the cereal crops
compared with the average yields per hectare for the last five years. The
forecast shows that the yield of Winter wheat are expected to increase by 8 %
to 7 260 kg/ha and it is the highest yields per hectare for any cereals. Yields per hectare for oilseed crops are estimated to increase for all
crops except spring turnip rape compared with the average for the last five
years.
The forecast shows that the yield of Winter rape expect to be the highest
yields per hectare for any oilseeds. It is expected to increase by 2 % to
3 350 kg/ha compared with the average yield per hectare for the last five
years. List of tablesList of terms
