This guide is for anyone who wishes to travel into Sweden from another country with dogs, cats, or ferrets. Simply answer five questions, and the guide will lead you to the rules and regulations that apply to your trip.
The guide does not apply for dogs, cats, or ferrets that are travelling for the purposes of being sold, adopted or given away, relocated or bought abroad and then delivered to the owner in Sweden. It also does not apply for dogs, cats, or ferrets that travel more than five days before or after the owner’s own date of travel, nor for groups of more than five animals that are not travelling to an exhibition, competition, or sporting event. In such cases, you must instead meet the commercial requirements.
PLEASE NOTE! If you will be travelling with dogs, cats, or ferrets from Sweden to another country, you must contact the veterinary authority in the country to which you intend to travel, to find out what rules and regulations apply there. This guide exclusively concerns travel into Sweden, not travel from Sweden.
