production of drinking milk in spite of less milk delivered The quantity of milk delivered to dairies in June 2016
was 239 100 tonnes. In June 2016 almost 30 700 adult cattle and more than 1 300
calves were slaughtered. The total weight of the slaughtered cattle was roughly
10 200 tonnes, which is slightly less than the same month of the previous
year. Back in May, the comparison showed the opposite, giving a temporary peak
in slaughtering, in May. Figure B shows how the cattle slaughter statistics
have developed since 2013. The slaughter of pigs, at 202 400 heads or
18 500 tonnes, was slightly smaller than in the same month of 2015.
Compared to 2014 though, it’s simultaneously a higher number of heads and a
slightly lower total weight. Figure C shows how the slaughter of pigs has
developed since the year 2013. The total slaughter of sheep, rams and lambs in June
2016 was 400 tonnes, somewhat more than in June of 2015 and 2016. Figure D shows
how the total slaughter of sheep, rams and lambs has developed since the year
2013. Egg delivery statistics for June were not yet
available at the date of publication, nor where the poultry slaughter
statistics. They will be made accessible in the Board of Agriculture Database
as soon as they are ready. Table 7 has been updated since Eurostat has made the
2014 fat- and protein content statistics for delivered milk available. List of tables
